That's a possibility. Also, I don't believe 'chief deputy coroner', the post Siekmann held prior to his election in 2004, was an elected position. So 2004 was his first race. It's possible that the words 'next election' weren't a reference to there being a 'previous' election, but just that Siekmann happened to be running in the election following the supposed PSTD dust up (i.e. the 'next election') and they then campaigned against him.
But all this implies a history between Peters and Siekmann. It may/may not have anything to do with PSTD, Peters alleged wife, or whatever. But there does seem to be something that Peters has in for Siekmann. I wonder what that is?
In the articles I found it was said that 2004 was Siekmann's first election. Since it's the only one he's stood for, it must be the one ilbear is talking about, but none of the facts match his account.
