I don't know what the policy of newspapers is when it comes to screening (or not screening) obits. It may be possible to put a false one in, or not, but there is a real body--bcsco confirmed that upthread by calling the funeral home.
Note that the obit is about the shortest possible obit and does not mention veteran activism. Hmmmm...

I confirmed there are two 'services' tomorrow. What the obit states is there's a 'memorial visitation' tomorrow. It posts the time as 9:00 a.m. which is when the family service is scheduled; not the public one which is at 10 a.m. Why not post both??????
A 'memorial visitation' implies a post-internment service so there may very well not be a body in attendance (no pun intended). OTOH, it could also be a service for a cremation, in which case the family could well provide the urn. I have a couple urns at home, here (empty, I might add), which could fill such a need. Wonder what would be in it?

My current guess is that the woman mentioned in the obit is his mother.
