Nelly the German Soldiers Angel here. When we did all the research back in 2006 I was provided with a phone number from Dale Peters. There was an elderely woman on phone and said that Dale Peters was outside with his son. We knew that he lived with his mom because another member of Veterans for Progress (don't remember the name) told us a little story and said that Dale Peters now would be cared of and sent to councelling.
Are you the German Soldiers Angel mentioned in that post? If so, can you then clear up a lot of speculation that's been going on about this? Who is Dale Peters? Who is/was Janet Peters? What was their relationship? Is the Janet Peters of the obit the same Janet Peters of the various DU/KOs tales?
There's just so much coming from divergent sources it's next to impossible to follow the story.
Did you get the name of that elderly woman?
If you knew he lived with his mom, what was your understanding of his relationship to Janet (if the elderly woman was not, indeed, Janet)?

I take it from this the elderly woman was now deceased at the time of your conversation with the Veterans for Progress member. The fact that he states Dale "now would be cared of and sent to counselling" implies he was incapable of caring for himself. Do you know this to be fact?
