The bad news is they will be talked out of it by the U.S. State Department.
=====
If you were fighting for your life could you be talked out of it? One thing we can be sure of. Israel isn't going to committ suicide.
From the story:
The Israelis believe that Irans retaliation would be constrained by fear of a second strike if it were to launch its Shehab-3 ballistic missiles at Israel.
They believe. What if they're wrong? Ahmanutjob is like a con in the yard: He won't back down.
The Saudi's funded the Wahabi's..for a century.
------
The Saudis play many sides of the same game and have for years so we don't know a lot of what goes on in the back room. One thing is certain. Saudi leadership isn't about to committ suicide and Iran is their biggest threat. While they may be giving millions to Wahabis and other radicals they are probably giving billions to keep Iran in check and trying to stay quiet about both.

Old news. Jerusalem Post had discussed this last year regarding Israel's options
Thank-you for your service to the country....I admire and respect your decision to be a soldier. God Bless.
Tehran, Mecca, Damascus, Islamabad. That would go a long way toward finishing the WOT successfully.
Allegra you could be our correposnatt from FR to be the time when Israel smackdown Iran that be something to tell ROFL
STAY STAY
I'm not sure. The other in depth article the paper (see the website) actually has quotes from one of the pilots training for the operation. It feels to me like Israel is presenting this to the world to show just how far it will go, if it has to. They'd much prefer not to - but if need be, they will.
Fox News military analyst says source of the leak is Bush administration.
Agreed. Folks who toss around the term "Nuke 'em" ought to remember Hiroshima which was a firecracker in todays reality. For a good visual, consult the movie TERMINATOR 2 and the playground dream sequence. That's pretty accurate. My outfit sent me to the US Army's Nuclear Biological & Chemical Warfare school waaaay back in 1981. It scared the foo out of me then and it still does. I'll never forget the graphic one of the instructors gave us as a way to picture the "size" of a 20MT warhead (that's 20 MILLION TONS of TNT explosive power): Imagine a freight train passing a fixed point at 55mph. That train, loaded with the aforementioned 20 million tons of explosive would take 8 hours to pass said fixed point. Know how big a freight car is? Think about that for a moment. Thank God we're not talking in terms of thermonuclear warheads, here. Yet.
Of course they have. That's what nations do...draw up contingency plans on how they'll defend themselves if necessary.
They've probably got one where they zot London, too. I've no doubt they have ICBMs.
Regretfully fixed.
That is a powerful image.
I'm just getting a kick out of the Psych/ops end of this, as the Iranian leadership reads all of this. Must keep them up nights, straining to hear, perhaps, if that mechanical whine of a high speed jet squadron on the horizon is a phantom ... or the real thing.
For crap's sake....EVERY country has plans like these and has had them for YEARS!!
"Israelis: destroying the terrorist states Americans refuse to destroy"
Hells bells, everyone has contingency plans to blow up someone else. We have them for Canada for crying out loud, it is no big deal.
