Many underestimate how hard it would be to truly dismantle the program. It would take an invasion and we would have to occupy the country and rebuild it like Iraq.

I don't feel comfortable assuming Iran would act rational with nukes. Their leader is clearly irrational and wants to destroy Israel.

The only course I see that's pragmatic and it's almost an impossibility is for the world to gang up on Iran, invade and dismantle the program. I don't think we have the political capital or will given a dem congress and the Iraq aftermath to do it alone nor would Israel be able to occupy Iran alone without starting a world war, oil embargo and world depression.

The only way forward I see is for the major powers to agree to dismantle their program. Yes that means the U.N. So this will probably never happen. As a result I see absolutely nothing happening of any significance except a lot of talk and posturing.

I suspect that Saudi Arabia is behind the scenes player and wouldn't shed a tear privately if Iran were wiped out by Israel. They'd scream and yell and froth at the mouth, nose and ears and demand immediate U.N. condemnation publicly while privately breaking out the champagne (close family only ofcourse)

I'm for laying waste to the cities and people. I feel bad for the innocent ones but we are at war with this culture and it's a war to the death. No peace agreement will ever be signed between our cultures.

Sadly, I agree. The only way to solve this is to go full force.

Israel has plans for nuclear strike on Iran -paper LONDON (Reuters) - Israel has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons, the Sunday Times newspaper said. Citing what it said were several Israeli military sources, the paper said two Israeli air force squadrons had been training to blow up an enrichment plant in Natanz using low-yield nuclear "bunker busters".

Two other sites, a heavy water plant at Arak and a uranium conversion plant at Isfahan, would be targeted with conventional bombs, the Sunday Times said.

The newspaper said the Israeli plan envisaged conventional laser-guided bombs opening "tunnels" into the targets. Nuclear warheads would then be used fired into the plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce radioactive fallout.

Israeli pilots have flown to Gibraltar in recent weeks to train for the 2,000 mile (3,200 km) round-trip to the Iranian targets, the Sunday Times said, and three possible routes to Iran have been mapped out including one over Turkey.

It can't get much worse than it is now and there are a number of Arab states who may yell and scream publicly but privately sigh in relief. Iran is the source of most of the misery and conflict now present in the middle east. Add nukes to her resume is only fueling a disaster to come.
Iran has to be confronted soon or we'll just be delaying a war that is certain to come. Delaying means our children will be fighting a better armed and more confident future Iran.
