I haven't finished Obama's first book-" Dreams From My Father" yet , but, I do have some impressions.
Obama talks about his drug use -lots of pot, coke when he could afford it, " no smack, though."
What is more troubling is his black power , black angst , most " white folk are racist,"
Nikki Giovanni, Langston Hughes type of writing.
Obama's total recall of almost every conversation he ever had from elementary school on up ( FYI-don't read the book if " mother.... " offends you ) stretches credulity.
And the sheer number of bigoted " white folk " he encountered in his daily life in Hawaii, makes the state sound like Jim Crow Alabama of the 50s.

Yes, I don't think the cocaine use is trivial, but some of his other ingrained attitudes are more troubling.
