We all have seen what happens when good men do nothing...burgeoning evil. "Thou shall not kill is understood to mean, "Thous shall not shed innocent blood." Saddam brought this upon himself. It is important for him
to die for his crimes...and the sooner the better.
I thought of the Saddam situation when I read this in the Old Testament:
1 Kings 20:41-43
41 Then the prophet quickly pulled the bandage from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets. 42 The prophet said to him, “This is what the Lord says: Because you have spared the man I said must be destroyed,[a] now you must die in his place, and your people will die instead of his people.” 43 So the king of Israel went home to Samaria angry and sullen.

Yep, if every inmate on our death row could credibly claim that their executions for their crimes will result in greater violence, then by all means we should just convert them to life sentences. /sarcasm
If we accept Clark's rationale, then eventually we'll be accepting that as long as you run with a big enough and violent posse of thugs, you can pretty much do whatever you want.
