Now, the 'powers to be' have met with Muslim leaders in the US, which is a sign that there's going to be much more appeasement with the Democrats in power than there has been under the Bush doctrine of appeasement.
You make many good points. There is, potentially, one benefit that we have yet to realize from the Dem win in this past election - When the next terrorist attack occurs in the US, it will be under the watchful eyes of the Democrat-held House and Senate. And they will take the blame.
This past election wasn't about disapproval of Bush or the Iraq War, it was about the voters expressing frustration over the fact that it has become impossible to distinguish conservatives from liberals. The Republicans who formerly led became too enamored of their power and greed and lost sight of their conservative principles. Under the leadership of a liberal president who disguises his liberalism behind "compassionate conservatism", the Republicans became arrogant, greedy and deaf. Perhaps, when they finish their analysis of this election, they will understand that America wants conservative leadership, NOT leaders who rule by the leftist-driven public opinion poll.
We will know their decision in 2 years.

I had people at church this morning trying to convince me the same thing. That it's good the Dems won because it will become clear who/what they are and they will lose the election in 2008.
I respectfully disagree! Something many keep forgetting is that the DemocRats have the ENEMEDIA on their side.
They are the ones who turned a large segment of the Country against the war. They are the ones who painted President Bush and Rumsfeld as incompetent and ineffective. They will spin anything bad that happens as the fault of the President and his policies. Anything good that happens will be because of the Democrats!
The Republicans are warmongers, evil, greedy, corrupt and can do nothing right. The DemocRats, are compassionate, sensitive, peace-loving and can do no wrong.
