Disagree on No. 3 - Vote YES. De Tocqueville was right and it doesn't take a bullet train to run you over to see it.

I gave #3 a lot of consideration.. but in the end I decided that it is better for the voters to express their opinions on the issues that the legislature fails to act on....

Well, someone made a great point earlier in the thread that things make it on there that aren't constitutional issues. Oh, wait ... that was you :) Raising the bar to prevent the tyranny of the majority does not lock out truly important Constitutional changes like #8, the Eminent Domain fix.

I am not sure if you are agreeing with my argument or not.. LOL...

FReegards,

David

P.S. Passing it on to my ping list.. unfortunately I will not be able to vote as I never received my absentee balot.. it arrived at the house a couple of weeks ago and my wife forwarded it to me. however it seems to have been "lost in the military mail system"..... anyway.. hopefully none of these races will be decided by a single vote.. but I am curious if any other military folks have not received their balots either.... might be worth looking into...

You raise a good point. I need to ask my son in Iraq if he can/has/will vote(ed).

Hate to hear you did not get your Ballot David. I found out yesterday that I will be traveling next week, so I have to go down to our Board of Registars today and pick up an Emergency Ballot myself.

REF: Local Issue...

While I am ideologically opposed to "free health care".. this issue is an opportunity to address the problem at the LOCAL level.. that is why I support it.... I would like to follow this issue closely to ensure that it does not turn into socialized medicine.... if managed correctly it would divert some of the "indigent" patients to clinics where the service can be provided at a much lower cost than ER care... I would like to see more details on the "accounting"... I think fees for service should still be assessed and if an individual has the ability to pay they should be required to do so.... FOR EXAMPLE: If a patient receives health care under this program and then wins the lottery they should be required to pay for the services they received when they were "indigent".... I don't know if this is in the plan or not... If it passess I intend to keep a close eye on its development...

Request information from anyone who lives in a community that has a "Community Health Plan".. Does it SAVE or COST taxpayers money? Link above is the Proposal for Leon County, Tallahassee, Florida

I expected more debate on #3..... I would rather vote NO a hundred times on issues that are not constitutional matters than NOT have the opportunity to vote YES on something that really SHOULD be there... ie....

THE MARIAGE AMMENDMENT !!!..... I am not suggesting a consipiricy but if #3 passess it would make it much more difficult to get the Mariage Ammendment on the balot in 08'....

I early voted today. There is a paper trail that runs like a grocery store tape behind the screen. Anyone alleging there is no paper trail better look at their voting machines. I don't know what the paper is recording.
