The Dems also seem to have this idea stuck in their head - Bush's low numbers means people want to see Democrats elected. Bush's low numbers are precisely BECAUSE they don't think he's stood up to Democrats.

Do numbers from a week ago, two weeks ago, or a month really represent who they will vote for on Tuesday? No. Those numbers reflect opinions at a point in time, not longstanding judgments people take to the polls.
