Stem Cell Research

TOPICS: Health/Medicine
KEYWORDS: embryonic; fetal; michaeljfox; prolife; stemcellresearch
I'm hoping everyone will please go here: http://www.angelfire.com/blog/stemcells/ and pass this url around to everyone they know the next few days. My wife just did a research paper on Stem Cell Research that she'd worked on the past month, and it really destroys the argument that embryonic and fetal stem cells have any promise for curing anything. The great sources that Rush cited the past couple weeks have been a great part to this paper. It's all factual with sources cited with their original journal listings, or the scientists who wrote the material.

We're hoping that by making this page of the research paper, it might get to some who have bought the media line and liberal Democrat lies about supposed embryonic and fetal "research", and maybe serve to educate and bring them into the real world with the facts about it all, not the fantasy over-medicated land that Michael J. Fox lives in, where he uses and abuses his disability and does political ads about legislation he hasn't even bothered to read, while over-medicating to get maximum manipulative effect with the audience. Please pass this around. It's in the first stage but I wanted to get it up as soon as possible. It will be improved with text link urls and archived pages of the journal articles in the coming days. I'm especially hoping that this gets distributed widely in Missouri, Maryland and Tennessee where this is so important in the Senate races there. Thank you.

That looks good. You ought to e-mail a link to National Right to Life to let them look at it.

Ah good idea. Will do! :)

It's funny, but the first email we got in regards to the site was from some lib asking "who is she to make a page like that about such a complicated issue?" So I just told them the following:

"Who is she? Well, beyond the fact that she was Pre-Med, before deciding to be a history teacher, which she currently is, she co-authored an article with her Poly Sci Professor that got published in a 1st Amendment Law book which is in every major law college library in the country, and did that before getting her degrees, she has a duel BS in History and Political Science, graduated Suma-Cum Laude with honors from Texas A&M with a 3.89 GPA, made the President's list six of her last seven semesters, is a member of the National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa, and is currently over half way to her Masters Degree from her BS. And the sources she cites is word for word and directly from the source materials in over a dozen medical and scientific journals, verbatim and exactly as printed. That's who she is. Now, who are you and what are your qualifications to dispute the facts on the page?"

No surprise but we haven't heard back from the lib yet. I guess he didn't like the part about embryonic and fetal stem cell research being just a shadow agenda for the pro-abortion and human cloning agendas, which most Americans oppose. Liberals seem to get really defensive when called out flatly as liars. But the truth is the truth. Thanks for reading and spreading it around! :) Paul.

Thank you for pinging me to it. It's bookmarked along with this thread. Thank your wife effusively for all of her work. It's a wonderful thing to do.

Thanks, texas...easy reading, even for the non scientists.

Facts are the best weapon to help displace the lies spread by the Left about embryonic stem cells. You're right, for the Left it really is just about abortion. And in Missouri, it's also about human cloning.

Jim Talent was just on H&C talking about this issue.

IMHO, one of the best purely-secular arguments for pushing adult stem cell research instead of embryonic is that developments with adult-stem-cells will likely allow people to receive transplants of cells cultured from their own body (which are guaranteed to be a perfect match). This is a huge advantage, and one which embryonic cells cannot match.

I've seen nothing to suggest that embryonic cells have any advantage sufficient to justify giving up that key advantage of adult cells.

Yes facts are EVERYTHING. This page can be put in the face of anyone supporting embryonic/fetal stem cell research and prove them wrong and they can't continue to argue it with these facts on this page. We started archiving the cited source materials on the actual page in case the ogirinal web sources of the journals are ever down or removed, so that all the source material will be available permanently on the page remotely and not dependent on other peoples sites. That will make it a great weapon because everything will always be there, and I have back ups on my computer, and other secure web space. And we're going to keep adding new articles and science journal entries of future research showing the facts. I hope the page makes a difference.

Yes that is a HUGELY important point and something that embryonic/fetal stem cell promonants can never answer because the answer is, Adult stem cells are a MUCH better thing to fund and research. Excellent point! If you ever see any other journal or medical research links that we don't have, or newer ones since the date of the paper, Nov, 2nd, PLEASE forward the url of the original source to us so we can add it. We want to make this as fully comprehensive a tool as possible. Thanks much.

It may be hard to see or measure the difference but it is a great piece of work that can't help but have an impact.
