This, of course, is what will trip up the GM - IF he agrees with it. If he doesn't, there's no point in going on.

How many tree-huggers in fact WON'T agree with this premise, that in fact ALL global warming is man's fault? This feller may be a bit too optimistic.

Well at that point, at least you know it's not worth the effort of going on. If someone is unwilling to admit that climate changes occurred before man was around and at least theoretically could be occuring now, you might as well just shoot him...
