Rush Holt Sends FBI Letter About Anthrax Investigation - But "Forgets" to Mail It

NJ Congressman Rush Holt has a fine reputation as a physicist,but is apparently not too good at mailing letters.

Well, maybe he's better at "ambush politics" than the average physicist !

Did you read the next follow-up letter that the Congressman sent later on? The second paragraph reads as follows:

"You indicated that a copy of my letter was not provided to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I want to assure you that a copy of the letter was sent by facsimile to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Legislative Affairs before the start of the business day on September 27, 2006. (If you would like a copy of the fax confirmation page, I can provide it to you. I am sorry to learn that the letter was not promptly made available to Director Mueller or you".

From his statement, it sure doesn't sound to me like he "forgot" to send the letter. It sounds to me like the letter was either put aside and forgotten, or ignored.

I suppose there's a possibility that he could be lying and grandstanding, but I tend to doubt it. In any event, this silly little kerfuffle doesn't mean anything. What matters it that it's another day, and the status quo remains.
