The left and its media and Hollywood accomplices are using this Katrina anniversary once again to smear President Bush. The lies told by the Associated Press about the levees have been well documented (See Oops, Bush Didnt Lie, Sorry About That on my website, in March, 2006), and as Popular Mechanics pointed out, In fact, the response to Hurricane Katrina was by far the largest--and fastest-rescue effort in U.S. history, with nearly 100,000 emergency personnel arriving on the scene within three days of the storm's landfall.

The MSM obsession with the "first anniversary" of Katrina is just a propaganda stunt. Of course they want to fault Bush but that's no surprise.
Let's face the facts without all the partisan spin which has become nauseating. The Katrina debacle was a partial failure on EVERY level - federal, state, and local. Even Bush has admitted he was remiss in his response. But so was the governor and "school bus" Nagin.
The real problem with the politicization and finger-pointing that come with every natural disaster is that we become more concerned with the spin than with ways to improve things in the future.
As I write this I'm in FL feeling the affects of a tropical storm and I've been ravaged by two recent hurricanes. Perhaps we're more used to these natural phenomena and have learned to cope better.
At any rate, we wouldn't tolerate such nonsense for one election cycle and thank God we don't try to put political spin on every natural catastrophe. Enough is enough!
Speaking of finger pointing , I wonder if anyone has bothered to ask RFK jr whose "fault" it is that this latest hurricane lost it's punch before reaching land.
