Bushbot = standard conservative.

Even if you disagree with the President, but still insist on standard conservative principles, you will get called a Bushbot because you oppose the imposition of Marxist trade policies, or criticize the criminal organizations known as unions, or are a Christian or what have you.

Bushbot is what Teddy Rooselvelt would have called a weael word - a meaningless word meant to suck the meaning out of the words surrounding it.

Don't suffer from "friendly fire". Some could be trolls fragging the FReepers.

Punk the prez? - Moby's anti-Bush tricks (New York Daily News - 2/09/04)

One of Sen. John Kerry's celebrity supporters is ready to pull out all the stops to get him elected. Republicans are shrieking over a suggestion by rocker Moby that Democrats spread gossip about President Bush on the Internet. "No one's talking about how to keep the other side home on Election Day," Moby tells us. "It's a lot easier than you think and it doesn't cost that much. This election can be won by 200,000 votes." Moby suggests that it's possible to seed doubt among Bush's far-right supporters on the Web.

"You target his natural constituencies," says the Grammy-nominated techno-wizard. "For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you're an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion.

"Then you go to an anti-immigration Web site chat room and ask, 'What's all this about George Bush proposing amnesty for illegal aliens?'"

Moby didn't claim that he believed the abortion story...

You might be a Bushbot if:

You supported Arabs controlling American ports.

To many people who use the term it means anyone more conservative then they would like. Senator Lieberman is now being called a bushbot, because he is running as an Independent.

You support "Comprehensive" Immigration Reform before securing our borders.

Now this particular person wants machine gun nests set up at the border to kill anyone who crosses and he sees all foreign trade as evil and thinks the President is trying to end U.S. sovereignty

You've been talking to Pat Buchanan?

Sounds like a Pat Buchanan supporter, otherwise known as a "Patsie".

I'm starting to think that a Bushbot is a conservative who, even though he sometimes disagrees with the President continues to support our commander in chief in time of war and who is darn glad he's the President instead of Kerry.

*************

My impression is that the Left defines a "Bushbot" as anyone who doesn't believe that President Bush should be impeached and sentenced to life behind bars.

That's a Patsie. If he/she begs you for money to fix the problem, that's a Keyster (Alan Keyes supporter).

A Bushbot robotically supports the President even when he does stupid things; and yes, the President has done some stupid things while in office. For example, a Bushbot might have vehemently opposed the McCain-Feingold Bill while it was being debated, but turned into a true-blue supporter of campaign finance reform once Bush signed that turkey. Or they may have opposed amnesty for illegal aliens... until Bush supported it.

On the other hand, Bushbots should not be mistaken for those who make realpolitik decisions. Such a person might oppose a particular Bush policy, but voices support for the President because they see him as a vehicle to achieve their long term political goals.

A Bushbot is a kind of gas powered robot that trims hedges, you can get them at Home Depot.

Loew's has a similar device with a different name but it runs off
electricity and can foul it's own cord, I don't recommend it.

A Bushbot is someone who's right 90% of the time. Not bad, IMHO.

A Bushbot is a mythical creature who dwells on the internet, has poor sleep habits, bad breath, is socially objectionable, lacks originality or insight. He is characterized by slavish admiration for all things W and willingly believes and ratifies the fruits of the Cheney-Rove-Libby cabal.

Bushbots are the creation of people who fail to understand that politics is the art of the possible, or that close battles are won on the margins. They cannot comprehend that character counts more than glibness; that smooth words more often conceal evil than reveal virtue.

A Bushbot is someone who relexively agrees or defends the president no matter if his policies are in contrast to Republicanism or Conservatism, even to the point of attacking fellow Republicans or Conservatives. An example of this might be Harriet Miers, Dubai Ports, spending, or illegal aliens.

I generally agree with your sentiments as expressed in the original post. I don't consider myself a Bushbot, but by those standards, I would qualify.
