There's garbage coming from several sides on that story: from the most-Lebanese-don't-really-support-Hezbollah propagandists to their more belligerent friends who can't keep their mouths shut. IMO, we shouldn't give hasty credibility to either. At least some of the government leaders of Lebanon are in Hezbollah's pocket, but they know who to suck-up to and when.

Aljazeera published the story and also quoted "Nouhad Mahmoud, a Lebanese foreign ministry official," "Ghazi Aridi, the Lebanese information minister," and "Mohammed Fneish, one of two Hezbollah cabinet ministers" ("Beirut dismisses UN draft resolution"--link above). Reuters Alertnet UK (Britain) then picked up the story.

It would certainly turn the tide in the court of public opinion, that other battlefield in this current war.

One thing that Reuters UK can honestly be criticized for (besides its creep with the doctored photos) is taking some of its news (and embedded opinions) from Aljazeera.

Oh, and Nabih Berri is the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, IIRC.

Think Seniora has the balls to call for it?

No, otherwise Hezbollah wouldn't be basing operations in Lebanon right now.

Correct. No different than going to Miss America (Nancy Pelosi) for the US response.

Nabi baby lives in Dearborn MI from time to time. He raised his ugly little head when the Amal Militia kidnapped Terry Waite, the Anglican minister, emissary of the Archbishop of Canterbury, 19 years ago.
