This is weird. Yesterday I posted here that I was looking for a van. Then yesterday afternoon, I get a call out of the blue from a friend in Atlanta who told me right away that someone he knows who lives near me is selling a good van cheap. And my Atlanta friend doesn't read the FR nor did he know I was looking for a van. Maybe he picked up mental waves that I was projecting.

Let me know if you want on the DUmmie FUnnies PING List.

Socialist utopia or fuedalistic society? Hard to tell, isn't it?

we thought that the Líder Máximo was simply being transported from one place to another with extra security.

Well that doesn't even make sense. After all the people love him so.

Despite all her lies about how nice and normal Cuba is, she inadvertently lets this slip:

Cubans can't say what they really might be thinking to me

And there you go, you Communist stooge.

I wonder if any American would feel unable to say what's on their mind in a conversation with a foreigner if, God forbid, President Bush should fall ill.

I doubt the writer is even in Cuba. I began to have serious doubts when he or she called Castro a dictator and then spoke of repression and people watching for revolutionaries.

DUmmies and KOmmies have shown again and again that lying is no barrier to promoting their fantasies.

I don't believe they're willing to give up the security that a socialist state offers

Ben Franklin had something to say about this, I believe.

Cubans have known for many years that Raul would be put in power in Fidel's place

Apparently the stages of history in Marxist theory are actually:

Hunter-Gathering
Barbarism
Slave Society
Feudalism
Capitalism
Socialism
Feudalism (final)

The last one was written even more clearly than the rest, as if it had been painted on the side of the barn just last night.

I doubt the writer is even in Cuba.

Why? After all, she could post to a political blog on the Internet from anywhere on the planet.

I mean, it's not like somebody would try to put a firewall around a whole country or anything....

I say this in an attempt to understand why people would choose to live under a politically repressive regime.

What an idiot. As if she thinks that there's a real choice.

It's telling that she has no Cuban friends. Cuba had the top economy in the Carribean before Castro. Now it is the worst with a GDP/cap of $2,000/yr. Puerto Rico's is 12,000.

And DUmmies would say that's only because of the economic sanctions put in place by the imperialists!

It is unfortunate bad timing for Fidel to fall ill during the Bushco presidency. Unless his successor declares "Democracia !" and salutes the American flag, the neocons will be applying tremendous pressure to move in and take over, to "liberate" the Cubans. And if this happens, a large number of Cubans, I believe, will go into the mountains for a potentially long-lasting and violent insurgency, as they did 50 years ago.

Check out this DUmmie thread expressing fury and outrage at the administration's rather bland statement offering to support a transition to democracy.
