It's not the fault of the Minutemen if, per your hypothetical, an elderly person didn't know what he was donating to.

A donor with any sense wouldn't donate to an organization that isn't clear on its tax status, won't make its financial data public, and doesn't have any clear results to show.

I don't really expect an answer.

I'm not holding my breath either.

I've been gone all day, and I don't see any substantive answers yet.

Question one, why did they go for a 501c4 instead of a 501c3 given the fact that the 501c3 donations would have been deductible for the donors? The only logical conclusion is that the 501c4 is the least scrutinized for political activity. If the agenda of the MMCD is to form a 3rd party and lobbying entity then they have a lot more leeway in using donated money and money can be funneled into it from a partner 501c3 organizations. So based on that Simcox is collecting money for a fence but spending the bulk for his political goals. Question 2, can he legally solicit funds for one purpose and then spend the funds for an entirely different purpose? Question three , is there a 501c3 organization partnered with him that is passing funds gathered that couldn't be used by them for political activity into the new 501c4 to be laundered.

I said last night things would start changing. The off-site freeping for Tancredo is about spent. Bay Buchannon must have sent e-mail alerts to her entire list to get them over here to vote.

Does anything you have found so far show a 501c3 organization in the mix?

He is already filed for a third party pac. Those documents have hit the FEC just now. Apparently there is a effort to provide seperation between him and Gichrist. Even though the same familar faces come up and the adress of this pac is in the same office as the other minuteman pac

The last link in the puzzle. If he gets 501c3 status he can then offer tax deductible incentives to donors and he can then shift those funds into his 5014c accounts with no scrutiny of political activities denied to him as a 501c3. I would suspect that taxable donations are way down since the questions started. His site does not show any running total of dollars being donated.

Tell us about the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund.

It has a Bush name on it.

Tell me how much they can account for out of the 65 Million known donations.

When you can do that, then you have the moral authority to beef about the Minutemen.

The Bush is a close relative of a standing President.

Do you hold them as personally accountable and liable?

Does that make you a "good" Republican.

Then you can tell me how the Red Cross has accounted for funds donated in the Billions post 9/11, Katrina, and Indonesian Tsunami.

Then you can tell me of how the United Way disburses charity funds, and why the Boy Scouts USA are banned.

You are a hypocrite and prevaricator holding the volunteers of the MMDC or any other volunteer organization, (Fire Deparment, EMT, Ladies Aid) to the a higher standard than relatives of the standing President. Where are your obtuse cries for full disclosure of the other large charities and charities connected with the President and his family?

Onyx is a black rock, not clear, and kind of like that thing in Medina, KSA.

That request for information document seems indicate he is in real danger of an audit of his organization.

The Katrina aid is being spent on what it was solicited for. The Fence funds are not.

BTW I believe this is his "pending" 501c4 application not a 501c3 application. I don't believe a Pac can be organized under a 501c3 umbrella.

Nice try. The issues in those links have nothing to do with the funds not going to relief efforts.
