Who Has Seen/Will See "Dead Man's Chest" Today?

My younger son has been marking off the days -- 45 of 'em -- 'til today. There were 4 midnight shows he begged for (12:01, 12:02, 12:03, 12:04), but since he just turned six, I had to turn him down. We'll be going at 4.

He received just about every Jack Sparrow marketing device for his birthday on the 4th, and will be wearing the outfit to the show (LOL). He's been eating the cereal and M&M's for weeks.

I'm actually looking forward to it, as I love Johnny Depp.

I liked TDWP too. I was expecting every tired fashion world character and cliche in the book, but the movie was better than I expected. Stanley Tucci was hilarious.

It was way better than I thought it would be.
Meryl Streep was just great, and Anne Hathaway..what can I say...she kinda comes alive when she smiles.
Al in all, it wasn't a bad evening's entertainment at all.

I've got a big book on Disenyland (a nice picture book with design drawings) and it says that the staff's research found that they died of VD more often than in battle but that things were toned down considerably (although the pirates on the ride are still shown chasing women).

Then there were people like Gilles De Rais who may have been fictionalized as Bluebeard.

I figured with more water to preside over as the earth warms and the glaciers melt (ala al gore), there would be more pirates to take advantage of the newfound floating communities.

I was thinking that data were real (possibly)....but there are no standard weather records kept before 1870 or so....thus the 1860 and 1820 numbers are guessed at. I'm not sure about the number of pirates....it's not unreasonable to think that the maximum was in the mid-1800's....

Yes. 4p.m. Kids are costumed out, and we have to leave "NOW, mom!" in case there's a line.

Well, it wasn't as good as the first, to me. My boys loved it, my daughter slept through it.

There were some great scenes, and some great lines. Keira was dreadful, like she'd been taking soap-opera-acting classes or something. The secondary characters really made it fun. Definitely bang-for-the-movie-buck, tho'... it's loooong. Oh, and there's no doubt there'll be a follow-up.

3 and 1/2 stars.

Do you want her to? I mean, I grew up to be athletically gifted yet still love to play dress up. Having two older brothers made me fearless, strong, and able to take care of myself. And yes, there are less nightmare scenarios as teens.

Part III has been completed. It will be released next summer. Keith Richards is suppose to play Bootstrap Turner in #III. They filmed II and III together.

Actually, I didn't get all girlie-girl 'til i was 24. (And I was uber-jock in my teens, too.) So I guess it's all okay.

(It's just that after two boys I was so desperate for pink and sweet and light. How many variations of cargo pants and "Navy or gray?" can one woman take?!)

LONDON (AP) - Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is lined up to play the swashbuckling father of a pirate in the third installment of the ``Pirates of the Caribbean'' series, star Johnny Depp said Tuesday.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said Richards would have a cameo role as the father of the flamboyant Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Depp, in the third ``Pirates'' movie, which is due to resume filming next month in California.

Depp, 43, has said he adopted the body language and mannerisms of the veteran guitarist to create Captain Jack's character.

``We're all looking forward to the idea of Keith coming in and doing a cameo,'' Depp told a London news conference to promote ``Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest,'' which opens in Britain on Thursday.

``You never say it's definite until the guy steps on the set and the camera is rolling. But it's looking very, very good,'' he said.
