He decided to add plagarism to his portfolio. Unfortunately for Leopold, he was either too stoned (or going through such severe DTs) to realize that he was plagarizing himself.
I have to admit I'm somewhat sanguine about this. I should have been on your ping list years ago but I liked being able to get into the Top 10 without the ping.

He was banned for being a Poser by pretending to be an Army Ranger. I also know he lied about that Andy phone call but over at the Conservative Underground where he is still posting, he still hasn't confessed to that. BTW, I also doubt all the amorous adventures he's been dreaming up. However, what pissed me off about that phone call claim is it basically hijacked our discussions about Andy back then. It was his way to make himself the CENTER of attention.

There is a certain logic to it, though. "Public figures" generally have to develop thick skins anyway, but if the board wants to have a "community" feel, then preventing members from attacking each other makes sense.
What would make more sense, of course, is to prohibit personal attacks altogether. However, this would eventually starve DU of postings...

Unfortunately it looks like that Poser thread has been removed. Basically Speed Addiction was outed by a military organization and as part of his punishment he had to post a thread here confessing to being a Poser.
Me among others. I even posted several Freepmails on the Poser thread that I sent back then expressing that I did NOT believe anything Speedy said. Also posted a skeptical reply about Judge Crater on one of the Scamdy threads.
I didn't know Speed Addiction had been banned. I never paid much attention to the Scamdy threads so I don't about his comments there. But, I always liked reading his comments. Have to say though that from the beginning I thought he was a story teller. Seems like he had claimed to be a DU moderator at one time. He always had interesting posts. Nothing wrong with trying to keep things intersting Speed, but if you made false claims about phone calls and confusing an issue about someone else, that would have been way over the line.
Skinner must have felt honored to have a pubic figure, oops public figure, like Jason Leopold post.
How's this for a compromise... they can have a set time each day to launch personal attacks at Republicans/Conservatives only. They can call it something creative and clever, perhaps the Two Minute Hate.
Well, in an attempt to get back to the subject of this DUFU, maybe speed was one of Leopold's sources. :-)
