I have an INTERESTING project/proposal for you webmaster techies out there....
Here is what is going down... About 6 weeks ago, I e-mailed the top editor of the Miami Herald with an idea I had on how to increase their web traffic. Much to my surprise, this editor (Tom Fiedler) got right back to me in a few hours stating that he found my proposal "intriguing" and forwarded my proposal to their online editor. The online editor also likes my idea which involves setting up a type of web forum which has never been done before in a newspaper (NOT a news forum so this idea does NOT compete with the FR.) Newspapers are uniquely able to set up such forums and I am SURE it will greatly increase the readership of the Miami Herald. Okay, the online editor likes the idea and thinks it might be worth a try on a limited basis just to try it out but here is the catch...He is so busy with other online projects that he doesn't have time or resources to expend on this one for the time being. This is KILLING me because I just KNOW this forum idea will work. The amazing thing is that it WON'T take any sophisticated software to set up this proposed forum. Pretty much just a fine tuning of existing forum software is all that is needed. I think this project can be done in your spare time (and I don't even think it would take too much time at all). Soooooooo....what do you get out of it, especially since the Miami Herald is mostly on the liberal side of the spectrum? I never discussed this aspect with the editors even for myself but I do know that if this forum works when they test it out, they will need to greatly expand it so there is a good chance they would need your services for this. Even if they don't, you can put this into your resumes plus if it does work, most likely other newspapers will want to make use of the same kind of forums so you could set it up for others. And there is the final IRONY of "vicious rightwing" Freepers who end up as the salvation of the newspapers (at least online).
If you are into setting up software and are interested in this, Freepmail me and I will go into more detail.... And remember, MUM is the word until this project is completed.< /rant>
Let me know if you want on the DUmmie FUnnies PING List.

Why not? They fake common sense all of the time. Only fellow DUmmies fall for it.

And after the blowout, we need to have our own Orange Revolution if they steal it again.
The day everything changed next time.

Hmm.. they see Rove as some super Vader clone.
Funny thing is, VadeRove saying "Give in to your anger! Release your HATRED!" just doesn't have the same ring before cutting off the DUmmie Skypuker hand because the Dummies already did just that.
They've already given in to their anger and hatred.
*chuckle*
/ end tangential thought.
Dear Dummy DistressedAmerican, your powers grow weak old man! ROVE is your Master now!.
