A quote from Tony Blair at the joint press conference with Bush yesterday: "The biggest obstacle to our succeding in Iraq is the determinaton of our enemies to keep us from succeeding...their recognizing the threat that democracy holds for them." Note Blair's use of the word "enemies" in the quote above. He does not say "insurgents,"as the media does in their depiction of the Iraqi violence as a civil war (thereby implying that we should stay out of it.) Since the Iraqi establishment of their own popularly elected government, i.e. democracy, poses no "threat" to themselves, the "enemies" that Blair is referring to for whom "democracy is a threat", and who are underpinning, funding, supplying, and in every way possible maintaining the so-called "insurgency" (thereby propping up the illusion of civil war and the legitimacy that such a cover provides for their violent interference in the formation of a democratically elected Iraqi government) are, of course, those axis of evil twins, Iran and Syria, bolstered by their creditors and our unacknowledged antagonists, Russia and China, without whose powerful economic, diplomatic and military support Iran and Syria could not persist, or hope to prevail, in their opposition to us.
