I just don't know what to say...

I'm not optimistic...

I will say, in the case of Pakistan we have boots on the ground there so we have a much better idea what is going on with their nukes than we would have otherwise.

It just seems things can't continue as they have much longer. That major upheaval isn't far away.

Actually, we don't have boots on the ground there. We have troops in Pakistan.

We did earlier have the use of an airbase - that is all - and from that we were asked to leave.

We need to ask ourselves why we are allowing Pakistan to prevent us from talking to AQ Khan - when our nation's national security is at stake. AFAIK, this should not be an issue for negotiation -

AQ Khan needs to be handed over the US and Western powers immediately and made to talk.

There are other developments happening in Pakistan right now with regards to Al Qaeda operatives.

Pakistan's intelligence agency has been holding rallies on the weekends to recruit volunteers to fight the allied forces in Afghanistan, provide them with training and sending them over as well as providing sanctuary for the Taliban from Afghanistan. In recent weeks, they have been arming them and sending them over into Afghanistan.
