I am no fan of unions. Why are the unions not speaking out against illegal immigration? Seems the unions are losing membership possibilities if illegals consume the jobs. The Farm Workers Union should be the most vocal opponent to illegal immigration. Anyone know what is going on here?
Senator Allen from Virginia made good comments against amnesty. Too bad that Senator Warner, also Republican from Virginia, is all for it - that the same senator who was briefly married to Elizabeth Taylor. He is a mean-spirited guy.
The unions are split. The service unions support amnesty because they have a lot of dues-paying illegals and because they stand to gain a lot of new members. The trade unions oppose amnesty because it drives down wages and undercuts collective bargaining.

My guess is the same lobbyists and "special interest" groups aka.....La Raza, MeCHA, etc. are using the same methods ($$$$) on union leaders that they've used to capture the hearts and minds of our (alleged) political leaders.
Perhaps they're counting on the newly-legalized illegals becoming their new union members.

You can read this from the United Farm Workers:
Take Action: Tell President Bush: It's time for action, not just words! [they want amnesty].

They dont have to benefit immediately. As long as America is morphed into a quasi-socialist utopia, they're satisfied. The illegals contribute towards this goal in the long run (doing the work that they...well..)
