the illegal immigration problem is a simple issue to solve: Shut the border down to illegal aliens crossing into the US, then begin "hammering" the greedy employers who hire them. This is 100% correct. However, the repubs know that the defacto guest workers/illegals have helped the economy and that is why this is not being done.
If you disagree, consider that despite the war in iraq, a huge trade deficit, aging population, and 3 dollar gas, unemployment is near an all time low, and gdp growth is 3-5%.

Do you have any idea what they cost for education, health care and other social services? Who fills our prisons? With what group do the police and justice systems spend the bulk of their resources on in the border states? Please be specific.
