I believe that the writer of this article claimed that the Constitution Party polled the best in a three way 'triangulation'. To be viable right now, the third party must be tough on the border.

Hardly anyone's heard of the Constitution Party, they're going nowhere, and polls are so easily rigged.

The border issue is not going to be the basis for a revolution. I know right now everyone here is worked up about it, but if a new party is being put together based on that it's going to run into the Republicans pointing to the measures they're already taking, and people will say "What exactly are you going to do that's different?" It feels good at the moment but people have to take a breather and think of all the OTHER "This is the ONLY ISSUE!!!!!" moments in our past--foreign ownership of US property, NAFTA, abortion--none of which changed the political landscape as people hoped.

The border issue is THE issue right now, but just because people FEEL it is the #1 issue, that doesn't mean much to the voting public overall, who have shown no signs of interest in a third party, scattered, biased polls notwithstanding.

Actually, the Republicans and Border Controllers in the Senate and House who want border enforcement, should be the first defectors to the third party. They actually could decide which party it will be. I am willing to give our true conservative representatives in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, my full support.
