Bush has destroyed the GOP, perhaps forever.

Did your mommy help you with that? That is the finest 8th grade essay I have ever read.

Medicare drug bill.
No Child Left Behind.
Immigration catastrophe.
Foreign adventurism.

Real conservatives are crying.

Somebody please tell me what we elected a Republican majority for?

For more than just one issue. And the alternative is no alternative.

It's almost enough to turn social conservatives against business.

It's not just social conservatives. It's turning off the law and order conservatives, national defense conservatives, constitutional conservatives, etc. Bush has sold out everyone in the movement who cares about more than just making a buck for himself.

It will take decades for the Republican party to recover from the Bush administration. After it's over, we need to blackball the entire Bush family, Rino sellouts all. Jeb and George P....don't even think about it.

Good post. I'm sure you'll give the keen insights of the critics all the attention they deserve.

I was thinking the low point will be in November, but it will actually be sometime in 2007 when the new 'Rat congress impeaches Bush. Bush fell on his sword last night pandering to future 'Rat voters. Like father, like son (except that Bush Sr. was only pandering to existing 'Rat voters).

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales appeared on On The Record with Greta Van Susteren, May 16 2006. I caught part of the interview. Twice I heard Greta ask him what the government's policy will be regarding the employers of illegal aliens. And each time he skirted around the question, never answering it.

One could see this as an insult to the intelligence of Americans watching and listening to him. And shame on Greta for allowing him to pull this phony crap.

Name a politician you believe is honest, truthful, and looking out for the best interests of all Americans. I'm at a loss.

I say the speech marks a low point because the Administration has made a conscious decsion to push full steam ahead on an issue that has the potential to turn the GOP's majority into a minority - fast.

The GOP has effectively stuck its (middle) finger in the collective eye of Conservatives on this issue. It appears that they are telling Conservatives "we've decided that we aren't going home with you after all even though you did bring us to the dancet". They're telling us we're on our own from here on out.
