As I understand it, it's becoming more and more realized that the majority of gays were "made" ie. molested in childhood, rather than born that way. That would also go a long way in explaining why they tend to be so dysfunctional.

You want to reduce the problem, keep molesters behind bars.

. . . if homosexual marriage completes the normalization of homosexuality that is now racing forward, there will be more homosexuals in the population, probably very significantly more.

We're already seeing this phenomenon among the group most affected by the incessant push to "celebrate diversity"--including, above all, the kind of diversity formerly regarded as perversity. Just look at the very large numbers of teens who now characterize their sexual orientation as "uncertain" or "bi." Don't believe it? Check out MySpace (an eye-opener in many, many respects).

One should also note that there are literally dozens of diseases that the lifestyle makes prevalent amongst participants - so much so that LaVey, in his studies of the brain, used the particular diseases the deceased carried as a proxy for determining homosexuality. He had no direct knowledge of their participation in the behavior. Most sexually transmitted diseases are far more common amongst homosexuals than heterosexuals, often by multiples by percentage.

So purely from a public health standpoint, and even excluding HIV, there are legitimate reasons to discourage the behavior.

I agree with you.
Other factors include irregularities in the male/female ratio and the disproportionate appearance in films and television.
Have you ever noticed that most prime time sitcoms these days have obligatory gay characters?

It is part of the plan to "soften up" America so we become more accepting and tolerant of their agenda.

Brokeback Mountain was meant to soften us up for more of the same. The next homosexual movie that comes out, the reaction may be, well, what else is new?

I had a very good friend that came out in college and eventually died of AIDS. He was a good guy...

I understand that he was your friend, but as a homosexual he wasn't by definition a "good guy." That's sort of like Eva Braun calling Adolf a "good guy."

just because someone is gay deosn't mean that they can't be a "good guy" or girl.

Unfortunately, this is part of the problem in American society. After 20 years of relentless propraganda from homosexual advocates, there are some who have come to see homosexuality as a varient of sex between consenting adults...in reality, it is an evil of the highest order which is more akin to murder, child molestation, etc.

So yes - if someone is "gay", it does mean that by definition they aren't just another good guy or girl.

No one is "gay" -let me factually reword your statement:

just because someone suffers a disorder and chooses to engage in homosexual activity doesn't mean that they can't be normal in other areas of thier lives

Agreed. Example: it is not that Rosie O'Donnell likes women, it is that she really hates men.

She didn't have a good relationship with her father.

Being "bi" is not the same as being homosexual, in several ways. In some senses, homosexuality is a twisted parallel to heterosexuality, especially in the relatively rare monogomous homosexual relationships. Being "Bi" is simply being indescriminate.
