'Save Our State' anti-illegal alien bulletin board hacked a second time !

Posted on 05/01/2006 11:46:32 AM PDT by cowboy_code

For the second time, the forum section of the Save Our State organization website has been hacked. The hackers have changed the SOS website's controls to NOT allow any Save Our State posters, members, or visitors to access the site's information. Co-incidentally this site's hacking occured today May 1st, the very day when the illegal immigrant forces are rallying in the US.

This hacking has happened previously under similar suspicious circumstances. The other hacking occured in the past when the Save Our State national organization had organized their national rally day to publicly protest the continuing un-enforcement of illegal alien immigration laws in late January '06.

Maybe the SOS's opposition is very scared of the SOS organization's progress in gaining new many members, gaining national media attention on SOS's rallies, and SOS educating the public with the true destructive facts connected with the continuing illegal immigration trouble of the USA.

Are you guys running phpbb? I'm running one of those, and you can't secure them. Might try different software if you are running opne source. backup the site often. It's frustrating. I've been hacked several times in as many months and once I had to start from scratch.

I don't like it when hackers attack this website with denial-of-service tricks and other disruptions.

I don't condone it. I condemn it.

Maybe the SOS's opposition is very scared of the SOS organization's...

Obviously they're not scared of you if they can lay a flaming bag of dogs**t at your virtual doorstep at will.

Oh, Invision Power board, another hacker's delight. My friend had problems and tried VBulletin. Hacking stopped, although the format isn't as good as invision.

Just another example from the people who are really behind these protests.

thanks for al your helpful suggestions. Here is what I got by email:

http://www.saveourstate.org/

The forums have been down for several hours and we have been working to find out what exactly the problem has been. We have received a ton of media attention the last few days and in light of today's events, we have been flooded.

We are also concerned about possible malicious attacks. Our apologies for this inconvenience. It is still possible that they will continue. Please disseminate.

Sincerely,

Joseph Turner
Executive Director
Save Our State

As you may already know, the Save Our State message board was recently inaccessible. Beginning in the early morning of May 1st, our opponents initiated a Distributed Denial of Service Attack. Our opponents entered in a URL that contained a program that allowed their computers to
continually request information from our server, thus flooding our site.

As a result, our host took our page offline and this resulted in our message board going "dark" for the day. We are doing our best to mitigate this problem. Please note that this is an all volunteer effort and every attempt is being made to upgrade our service to protect ourselves.

***However, this takes time and money and we are all in short supply of that.***
Your continued patience is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Joseph Turner
Executive Director
Save Our State
