I thank God even for spammers

You know how we are supposed to thank God for all things? Well, I thank God for spammers. Don't get me wrong, I also in an earthly sense dislike them, but lately I'm thanking God for them - through gritted teeth, mind you (but I'm working on that too). But I've decided to take a new tack, to use spammers to help me in my walk with God.

Let me explain.

I believe that we can use our daily situations in life to help us grow closer to God. In fact, that is one of the things that St Josemaria often taught - living an ordinary life in the world, but being contemplative, and using those ordinary things to draw us closer to God. In just one example with respect to St Josemaria, he had the habit of when entering a room to first "address" the Guardian angel in the place he was entering.

each time you delete a spammer's comment or email, say a little prayer.
