Want a simple outdoor beer-cooling system?

Take a rag. Soak it in gasoline. Wrap it around a beer can. Put can in a shaded breezy spot. Wait until rag is dry (depends upon the breeze, but should not be more than 15 minutes). Rinse can with water. Drink cold beer.

Gasoline is volatile, and evaporates off. As it evaporates, it draws energy from the beer (through the can) so that it can go from liquid to gas. Beer gets cold.

Just one thing. Don't smoke around beer you are cooling with this method.

Uh, ice is cheaper than gasoline.
