Dear Patriotic American,

Thank you for contacting the Minuteman Project and asking what you can do for your country. Our Phone lines are swamped, our mail boxes are full and we have stretched our resources to the limit. Most of you have asked, “what are we going to do, when will we do it and where will it happen?”. We will take to the streets in protest, we will march on Washington and we will make our voices heard. The uprising of the pro Illegal immigration marches were planed by Spanish languages radio networks for months, we have only a few weeks to respond.

We are organizing a rolling protest called “The Minuteman Caravan”. This will be a town to town, state to state convoy to the Capital. Some will only be able to ride with us for a few miles while others will take the road from Los Angeles to D.C. the entire way. We will stop at the Capital lawn, clogging the streets and forcing the lawmakers to hear our voice!

This is our last, best hope to save our jobs and our culture. In order to accomplish this monumental task, we need everyone to stand up and chip in. What can you do to help?

Organize a chapter: Gather others from your area together and start a chapter. The opposition uses myspace.com to gather support, so can you. When you have your team together, contact me at ed@minutemanproject.com and I will send you more information.

Donate to the cause: The board of Directors are not only working without pay, we have also committed our personal coffers to the cause. We need to raise a large sum of money immediately to accomplish our goals and keep up the fight. Please go to www.minutemanproject.com and click on our secure donation form. We need money, equipment, RV’s, stop locations and fundraisers now!

Volunteer your time: You can help raise money by organizing local fundraisers, take a watch on the border, donate food and equipment to the border watch, or volunteer your special skills. This will be a historic event you will be proud to have been a part of.

This is the time, we may never have another. Together we can close the border and end the debate.

That hasn't been presented to me. I would let you know if I did.

I emailed them to ask what they were going to organize and this was their initial response. I personally don't know if they have it all written down and planned out...I think we're just seeing the embryotic stages of a rather big attempt by many organization on impressing what Americans really want. I would pay attention to all three rallies and any new ones arising.

Well, it seems that massive protests and demonstrations are one of the better ways of getting the press and Washington's attention - so it would behoove us to take a lesson from our opposition.

One difficulty is that most real American Citizens have to work for a living, which puts us at a distinct disadvanatage to the Commie Rent-a-Mob crowd.

Unless someone does something stupid - and a "plant" might be tasked with doing just that - to discredit the movement, I wouldn't expect quite the same interest from the press as they showed toward the reconquistadores.

But then again, they might surprise us.

I wonder how many "Minutemen" are actually CIA or FBI plants?
More than a couple, I would surmise.
And there well may be a few Mexican Military Intel Agents amongst them as well... probabaly operating under the full knowledge and auspices of US Sneaks.

Hopefully MM Leadership is reeeeally careful about what they tell to who.

You're probably right - President Bush, Senate Republicans, Senate Democrats, and House Democrats all have too much to gain from making them go away.

Rolling MMP Caravan Ping!

I'm not at all ready to buy into the paranoia of thinking that the MMP has been infiltrated. Most of the folks on the line are grandparents and other retirees.

And the vetting process is extensive.

Regardless, the MMP is very much under the microscope of the Press.

I hope so. I hope this rolling caravan gets enough coverage so the politicians in Washington notice.

I think it is actually a very clever idea, especially compared to the mobs of illegals we saw. Rather than be compared to a 3rd world mob, the caravan will be seen as a more civilized, dignified procession from town to town. And a half a million people won't be AWOL from work or school on one day to attend it.

It needs to get going before the Senate votes on the new, improved amnesty bill, though.

The immigration debate just got a little weirder:

The Minuteman Project is kicking off a Minuteman Caravan Wednesday morning to drive from Los Angeles to Washington, DC, stopping in Phoenix and Crawford, TX, the president's home town.

So why start in predominantly black Leimert Park?

"Over 40% of black teenagers are unemployed. Overall unemployment in the black community is double that of white Americans," said Minuteman Founder Jim Gilchrist. "They are the most harmed by illegal immigration and it's time we focused our efforts in our inner cities where help is needed most."

Make of this what you will, but to me the racial politicking is ... interesting.
