I was right. I didn't want to know. These people need to be committed.
The towers exceeded their design specs in these cases-- each one withstood the impact of a plane bigger than a Boeing 707.
As others have pointed out countless times, it wasn't the "impact" that brought them down.
Now, if you want to talk about environmental regulations that stopped the use of asbestos about half way through construction (around the 60th floors) as being a factor....

I finally got around to watching this, and second the recommendation.
I especially love the part where Penn, what little patience he has with this nonsense stretched to the breaking point by some crackpot who says that Flight 93 was landed at a "secret government base" and the passengers are still alive somewhere. Penn's response was a hearty "F*(# YOU!!" followed by the wish that this jackass would someday meet some of the loved ones of the Flight 93 passengers, just to see if he has the gall to spew this crap to their faces.
Very NSFW, but well worth a look at home.

No, it's the "Lost City On Mars" kookery that's too nutty for benburch. He's complaining about the fact that the 9/11 conspiracy theories (which, in benburch's world, are legitimate historical scholarship) are being tainted by association (like the other such cases you noted in your earlier post).
Correction: After reading the thread, it turns out that both the Lost City On Mars and the Hidden Bombs In The Twin Towers theories are too nutty for benburch. So, benburch, if you're lurking here, I hereby apologize for thinking that you're crazier than you actually are.
