I haven't been listening to much of it myself lately. Everybody has their talking points or spin and I would rather make up my own mind.

Very perceptive article about the musings of those who make a living behind a microphone. I agree; talk radio is entertainment first, political pundancy second, but then again if it wasnt that way the listenership would probably decline. Personally, I figured it out a long time ago that how seriously can I take a man/woman who sits behind a microphone and spouts off for three hours a day and can afford his/her own airplane. Monday morning quarterbacking is a very lucrative business. It may seem as if I'm class envious, but I'm not; I just see things for what they are.

Pundits are the movie critics of the political world. I'm not saying that I don't listen sometimes, only that I take breaks from listening to clear my head and look at things on my own.

I don't see any envy in that statement. I say all the power to them. My point is that they have a lot of influence, but can't be taken at their word, at least not all the time.....

Listen to Tony Snow from time to time, try to catch the first hour of Rush over lunch. Rush's first hour is transmitted overseas on the armed forces network, you would think Rush would ramp it up a little as this is the only hour many service people hear. When Rush does show up, which is less and less frequently, he often gets off on some tangent that is boring as h***. Last week he spent the better part of his first hour on one show promoting his website that has a new iPod capability. Tony Snow is turning out to be the most informative and interesting of the two.

I would also recommend Larry Elder. He comes on 6PM et on KABC radio out of LA.

I agree. Tony Snow and Brit Hume (no radio show yet) are two men that I respect and give a serious ear to. Rush is Rush. I can listen to him somedays and on others....well... I dont need pompousity with my news analysis; just give it to me straight.

We lost Hannity here in Connecticut, for this last week I just recite Sean's talking points repeatedly and then pretend I'm arguing with that guy from Kalifornia who drives the Prius.

It's less annoying since I don't have to put up with those long commercial breaks.

Turn off Hannity, you are not missing anything. He is a vapid mental midget, and is not an intellect.

Hannity is nowhere near the league of pundits like Rush Limbaugh, Hugh Hewitt and especially the ultimate Black Belt master of political oratory, William F. Buckley.

He serves a purpose, but there are a dozen others out there equal or better.

You can listen online to any number of good hosts, including Hannity. I discover more every day. I've got wireless headphones so I can listen and do laundry at the same time.
