It's ridiculous and simply an occasion for the most self-absorbed people on earth to indulge in self celebration. 'Aren't we great?'

Agreed. And yet some people work themselves into a tizzy over it. It's almost like if someone hasn't written an article or posted to a blog or passed along an e-mail saying that Brokeback Mountain is a bad movie, a very bad movie, they aren't a real conservative. No one is being forced to go to it or to watch the Oscars, so in my opinion a big fat yawn is a more appropriate response to all this hype.

I never said that if you like Brokeback you arent a real Conservative. I just said that I believe we Conservatives should reject that movie and its messages (a sentiment which most Americans agree with, including Conservatives), and we should reject the Oscars for siding with Political Correctness.
