We should reject the Oscars utterly and have our own Flyover Country Awards. Maybe we can make the Oscars go away for good if we ignore them.

Ahhh, why have awards for film at all? Did they have annnual competitions between Vermeer and Rembrandt, or Van Gogh and Renoir, for Best Still Life, Best Self-Portrait? It's ridiculous and simply an occasion for the most self-absorbed people on earth to indulge in self celebration. 'Aren't we great?'
