Here's a more condensed version. They lost.

The south lost the War. We all lost the Republic. And you find that a reason to cheer?

One may add that the primary check-and-balance in the Federal Government was the power of the sovereign States. This check and balance was indeed intended by the Founders. When this check on the power of the "Federal" government was destroyed so was the Republic.

Intended from the beginning, though not by Jefferson.

That is what I gathered form the article, neo-confederate
propaganda doesn't begin to describe it.

Some are trying to do the same thing with the constitution of
The United Sates.

Article I
Section 10 - Powers prohibited of States

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation;

Now I always took this clause to mean that a state could not withdraw from the Union once it entered. I realize that there was a competing view.

In 1861 pro-slaver insurrectionist politicians triggered the Civil War and were willing to sell out to the highest European power.

Today's leftist traitors would love to sell US out and what's sick the neo-confederates are still fighting the same 'lost cause'
