Sorry, trying to disturb public peace is a crime. You insult someone, you can go to jail. You burn our flag in public here, you can go to jail. You insult a foreign leader who is in our country as a guest, you can go to jail. You deny the holocaust or make the Nazi salute in public, you can go to jail. Somehow I have trouble believing that one (no offense, but we certainly don't see that kind of balanced and reciprocal treatment here in the USA for so-called "hate crimes"). Are there actual instances of Muslims being punished in Germany for maltreatment of Christian or Jewish symbols, texts, etc.?

For Jewish symbols sure, but I don´t recall that Muslims have ever attacked Christian symbols here. They still don´t dare that.
