From Domenici's Press Release:

Domenici Unveils U.S. Immigration Reform Bill

The bill would create a guest worker visa for up to three 3-year periods (9 years total) for immigrants to gain legal entry into the Unites States, and potentially apply for permanent resident status. The bill would allow 500,000 such visas the first year, with subsequent visas increased based on market need.

The measure establishes a program to allow illegal immigrants now in the United States—estimated at up to 12 million people—to apply for legal guest worker status. This proposal entails paying a fine and obtaining a legal guest worker visa.

He would make the poor dears pay a fine! They are already impoverished, and this hardhearted beast Domenici would make them pay a fine! I am sure the Democrats will rectify this outrage, and have the taxpayers pay the fine for them, and then give them an educational grant, so they can learn all that citizenship stuff.

Thanks for the link... I should have checked further before flying off the handle like I did.

It is apparently not as bad as the original article indicates..... But it still sucks. Pete ought to know better.

You will note that future visa number adjustments will be based on market need. Why this is precious, now every third worlder can be deployed based on the USAs market need. Such flexibility of foreign nationals does not bode well for Americans. Oh well, thats that vaunted globalism at work. I am curious as to what folks think the reason is that business would prefer foreigners to Americans.
