Denmark isn't the Netherlands. Van der Sloots and Beth Holloway Twitty have issues with the Dutch, which are the people and culture of the Netherlands, whose law governs the island of Aruba (not the Danes nor the laws/government of Denmark)...

Doh! I always mix the two up. Mostly, when I hear the word "danish", it makes me think of Ty Webb's quote of Basho....

Don't feel badly. I made the same mistake earlier elsewhere and only realized the distinction between the two nations after another FRer pointed out the discrepancy.
