It was suggested on an earlier thread today that we start a "We Buy Danish" project of sorts. Freeper MarMema was going to start it, but she's watching the superbowl and I've got time at the moment so I'm going to kick this off.
The idea is that you go buy a Danish product and take a photo of yourself enjoying your Danish product so we can keep them on a gallery similar to that of the "We're Not Sorry" theme of the 2004 presidential elections. I've got bandwidth and space and so I'm going to host the photos.
In fact, we've already posted the first photo and statement of support to Denmark with respect to their recent troubles involving a comic strip (of all things!).
If you (or anybody you know) would like photos and statements in support of Denmark posted to the site, please send them to -
webuydanish@webuydanish.rc4systems.net
The URL for the site is at - http://www.gallery.rc4systems.net/webuydanish
Please make a best effort to keep gross profanity out of statements of support, but any and all sorts of weapons in the photos are not only permitted, but encourged. :-)

;) Use the Elmer's, Luke
Seriously, that is some fine, cheap stuff. I wish there was an Ikea in Michigan. We have to drive to the Chicago location (and have; thrice) to stock up.

I WISH somebody had done that for me! My wife and I went to FIVE places today looking for Danish products! We finally found some cheese. Good stuff too! We all had a MAJOR snack awhile ago with that cheese and other goodies. :-)

All this talk and photos (in other threads of food) has kept me going from the computer to the kitchen on and off all evening. :-)

Before we found the Danish cheese today, we were going to build a Lego creation and take a picture of THAT. We've got enough to file five or six five gallon buckets! My boys were real Lego fanatics when they were smaller! :-)

I'm having trouble finding Tuborg OR Carlsberg in my little area. I work in a place 48 miles away though and I'm pretty sure I pass a place where I can get either.
If this turns out to be true, I'm going to pick up a six every Friday on my way home, and take a photo of me and a friend or two enjoying it and I'll post it to http://www.gallery.rc4systems.net/webuydanish.
Yep...that's what I'm gonna do!

Ditto here. I went to ALL five supermarkets in our area, plus Walmart (which is RARE for me) and it was nowhere to be found. I think I know where to get it closer to where I work 48 miles away though, and while I'm over there this week, I'll find out. :-)

I Googled IKEA. It is indeed Swedish.
"Swedish retailer Ikea is to expand significantly in the UK, opening a string of stores in city centres."

No problem! It was actually Freeper MarMema's idea. :-) I'm just a flunkie with bandwidth and a place to park pictures. :-)

Legos ROCK! When I was growing up, were just coming out of "Lincoln Logs" (if you remember those) whe Legos came available. We had a HUGE box of them. It's cool because my kids grew up basically playing with the same toy. It's the sort of toy that builds and encourages creativity, and although I didn't realize this as a little kid, I've appreciated it as a parent! :-)

I haven't heard that yet. It wouldn't surprise me, but I hope that not too many of them do this. I think if word spreads and everybody simply does like we do and makes a concious effort to just buy one or two Danish products per week, in a month or so, the boycot by the mooslims won't be an issue anymore.
The buying power of the American citizenry is still unsurpassed by any other nation on this good earth. Remember what we did to France when we stopped buying their wine and cheese a couple of years ago!

Excellent idea!
Havarti cheese with...
Danish Butter Cookies, and...
washed down with some Banish Beer, this one is two for the price of one since the Pedophile Mo-ham-head (pigs be upon him) has forbidden alcohol.
And something for the garden too,
Papaver 'Danish Flag'.

According to a list I have from last year, Denmark deployed the 10th largest (after the USA) manpower to Iraq: The list was UK, South Korea, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Japan and Australia.
Go Denmark go.
