This whole thing just goes to show what happens when we make noise.

We didn't sit back and allow Meiers to be passed through.

Just wanted to say that I really do think that the Miers nomination was a blessing in disguise. I thought that she wasn't a bad choice, but the wrong choice. I thought I was fairly well read but I really learned a lot about Judges and the Court during that time.

Conservatives on the web and on talk radio were really make their case about judges who will not legislate from the bench. I heard so much about judicial restraint, judicial philosophy, the history of the Supreme Court, the biographies of former Justices, and the founders. I thought I knew a lot but found out I didn't.

When I saw Rush on Greta that one night I marveled!! They were actually discussing the qualifications of a Supreme Court nominee and hardly ever said the "abortion" word. That's a debate the Dems could never get in on. I think that the public really got an education about how important the Supreme Court really is.

the MSM in their effort to try and bash Bush even paid attention to Conservatives. Their message got out without a pro-abortion-pro life shouting match.

As soon as Alito was nominated the education was over, and is was back to "back room abortions, bigotry, and gay marriage" "Bush lied people died, Halliburton"(or Vanguard)
So - thank you George Bush and Harriet Myers.
