Still Lautenberg, Menendez, and Corzine are all more popular in NJ than Alito probably is. This victory may mean that the senators do listen to public opinion on a high profile nomination when the public has had a chance to see everything in the open. Maybe this vote will help that Cranston, RI, mayor win the GOP Senate nomination in "Little Rhody."
Maybe this vote will shake loose the mental bondage in
New Jersey. Would you believe, one of four Jerseyites have Italian blood or are related to an Italian. I have to believe there will be a number of irate "eye-talians" in the garden state tonight. one of their own, from humble beginnings, who rose to high levels was pretty much dismissed and pissed on by the political power brokers of their state. and that was after the Dems on the Senate Judiciary made fools of themselves while also insulting the man and reducing his wife to tears.
