OK, sorry for bad English.

Yeltsin is talking that Clinton was urging him to support action against Serbia. Clinton claimed that Milosevic is up to destroy relations between USA and Russia, that is killing Albanians etc.
Yeltsind didn`t wanted to brake ties with USA, and silently supported Clinton, claiming that Clinton gave argument good enough.
Yet, just days before war, Yeltsin stabb Clinton in his back.

Russia will secretly support war, but offitialy condemning NATO

Yeltsin than discovers that war is not going to end as soon as Clinton thought.

"Russia would intervene in war if it lasted for 2 more months" said he.

During the war,
Shirac is also stabbing Clinton in his back, saying that USA is up to be world leader, and it is too powerfull to be challenged, but France is for multipolar world.

This chapter shows that war was not about Serbia, but about evryone else trying to push USA into mudd, to achieve their own separate goals.

Better?

As with his previous books, there is an air of the confessional about this latest volume. He admits that he nearly canceled presidential elections in 1996 at the urging of his security chief, Aleksandr Korzhakhov, because he feared he might lose to his communist rival. He tells us that he himself gave the order for Russian paratroopers to steal a march on NATO and occupy Pristina airport in June 1999, at the end of the war in Kosovo. He even addresses the subject of his drinking: "Fairly early on, I concluded that alcohol was the only means of getting rid of stress." At the same time, he insists that a severe heart attack in 1996 caused him to reduce his consumption of alcohol to a single glass of wine a day.
