I do think this makes some sense....I have not been one to pull a chicken little over this kind of stuff. BUT, this has been worrying me for a while now. I think they are very capable of pulling off a large attack at some point. These are not dunb people-just the opposite- They are so fanatical that they have this unbelievable patience they feel is divinely motivated.

This is what really worries me...I read here a while ago an article about terrorits killing large amounts of innocents or non-combatives. Al Qaeda has been trying to get religious ok for this for a while. An article about a year ago said they recieved it from a rogue cleric but they must according to the Koran give the enemy or the innocents a chance to convert or be submissive or whatever...the part that has stuck with me since the tape was released was the truce part or the "plea" to the people. Different translations have since come out. That would justify a nasty attack. These people do not think like we do (duh!)...I will not and I hope the powers that be will not take them lightly, which they are not...I just have a bad feeling here. Shoot, I hope I am completely wrong and it's all just BS...just worried this time..

Hope this makes sense-I'm dealing with a nasty flu-My head feels like crap...!

Oh-another thing. The Superbowl IS a big deal. Imagine how many people would be freaked out by watching the unthinkable happen. Al Qaeda can't "blow up" America but as an article earlier this year or last? about a hard drive that was found in Afgan. that had Al Qaeda crap on it talked about taking down America by its economy and by basically scaring the hell out of us. People would be paralized by fear. On one hand we lament how Americans (some of them) are geting complacent and wimpy in this war-wow-this could hurt us-I do think we would rise up (after some sickos blame Bush for making the bad guys mad)...

It could be the Super Bowl, it could be the SOTU, it could be the Sears Tower on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. This is something to think about. Myself, I don't like to be in big crowds. :) I went to a Texans game this year. Crowds weren't a problem.

I too think that they are patient and capable of pulling off another major attack, whenever and wherever they are ready.

While we can only speculate about specific dates and places, in the long run I'd say the odds are about 99% that we will be hit worse than 9/11 in the next few years.

The Superbowl is certainly an attractive target. I can't believe however that they would take out all the Muslim population around Detroit...it's the wrong target.

However they could target somewhere else on that day, knowing that the TV coverage for millions would switch from the game to the attack...

If I were President, I'd state out loud what will happen if a WMD attack occurs on American soil. That within hours, certain places will be destroyed.

That might not be much of a deterrent to Islamokazi crazies, but it might give them second thoughts, if they knew that their mission would bring about the destruction of...certain places. Forever.
