The far left is coming unglued over the Alito hearings.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I wonder how Karl managed to hypnotize the Dems into shooting themselves in the foot every two months?
What is really sad is they don't realise they are actually on OUR side. We too hate the idea that the fate of our country could be tied to a single supreme court nominee.
We long for a time when the court goes back to its proper role, and the fate of the country is returned to the hands of the PEOPLE of the country, and indirectly to the people's representatives.
When the democrats finally realise that democracy is a good thing, it will be good for them, and for our country -- even though it's fun for us conservatives to see them squirming now.
But for now, when democrats talk about one man, one vote, what they really are talking about is their ability to get their ignorant masses to all vote for the letter "D"; and when they can't, they hope for a court to pass laws supporting their liberal agenda.
I think we can all agree that the Democrats in the House and Senate really do "blow big".
It's the law: Freepers must wash their hands with soap and hot water after visiting DU.
Bwwaaaahaahaaahaaahaaa -- "Ill hold my breath until I turn blue -- no, no, Green, I'll vote Green, that'll show'em!!!!" thanks, dukeman, first laugh I've had today!
You're welcome! These guys crack me up so much, I just can't stay away. It's like rubber-necking as you pass a car wreck on the side of the road. I think I need help!
LOL!
The left is loooooooosing!
The Supreme court IS going Conservative, the President is Conservative, States have pushed Conservative, there are some in the media (still a minority) who are Conservative today, even the Congress is more Conservative and will probably remain such. Many states have gone Red, laws are being pushed that are more red......
There is a rebirth of conservative values in the US. The Democrats don't see it, but they are out of touch with what America is. America is essentially a conservative nation built on conservative and Christian values. The US is neither Secular nor do we believe in most of the other values that the liberal left tells us are the better choices. Ask most Americans their opinion on Abortion. Ask most Americans what they think of Capital punishment. The last elections were lost because neither Gore nor Kerry represent the values of this nation. That's why it's important for the GOP to stay value focused not just in rhetoric but in action. What do the Democrats represent? Think about it! What is the Democratic position? Near 70% of America DISagrees with the Democrats on abortion. By pandering to vocal but fringe groups they have alienated themselves from the mainstream. the Democrats have to "pretend" to represent mainstream American values to win. Kerry showed this with his flip flopping on abortion, gun control and other issues. Bush said what he thinks and feels about it, Kerry has to lie and in a reserved way "act" like he's mainstream all awhile he panders to the radical elements out there that think late term abortions should be allowed.
The GOP needs to deliver, not worry about pandering to the left! Bush was elected by the Vigilantes on the boarder! He was elected by the Bible thumpers who acted in the case of Terri Schievo. Bush will NEVER gain the approval of the far left. They didnt support his presidency nor his election. Bush should have acted earlier in regards to the boarder, maybe should have intervened with Terri Schievo. If the GOP wants to get crushed, then they need to abandon those who put them in power. They need to start watering down their agenda. America WANTS this conservative revolution. We made him the President to do just that. Deliver and stay on course needs to be the theme! Get the word out and stay proactive and aggressive. As his drop in the polls showed, he cant sit on his rear. If he does that he will lose the initiative. Dear Mr. President, no one who voted or supports you cares about what is written in the NYTs! The French opinion polls are not very important to us. Pick a conservative judge. Do that which we elected you to do.

Justice Alito, get used to it, move on
I'm not happy about it but I've not heard anything that will defeat his nomination. Remember Clarence Thomas? I'm worried its a distraction at this point. Abramoff, House leadership...Iran.

2. I agree with one stipulation
first call or e-mail your reps and let them know whats on your mind. Seems that this is a no win situation. Focus on Alito like they want us to (go read freep republic) or keep Abramoff, House leadership, Iran on the front burner. I personally think Alito is already decided.

4. I WON'T "get used to it" and I WILL move on away from teh Democratic PArty.
It's that simple. If the Democrats do not filibuster, the Democratic PArty is hopeless and thus not worth my time or effort.

8. Yes, I agree
I'm tired of the spinelessness. I'd rather fight for a worthy third party like the Greens.

Keep your powder dry, Walt!
That's right- keep it dry- for "the next time."

22. I bought that line hook line and sinker over Roberts So this was the time we kept our powder dry for.
And if they don't filibuster now, the Democratic PArty is in collusion with the republican Party and I need no further evidence.

51. But Democrats dont appoint "far left" judges- we appoint moderates.
The other huge difference is that Bush is the most unpopular, dishonest & corrupt President in history. If we had a prez as corrupt, criminal and unpopular as Bush, then we should not expect confirmation either.
Alito is a facist and a racist- Democrats dont appoint "far left" judges- we appoint moderates.
Caving in to Bush and "playing fair" with him has never worked. Can you show me when it has?
Alito is a liar and a racist, and should not be awarded a life-time appointment.
I'll assume that Democrats who enable him or defend his confirmation have no problem with his positions.

62. whatever....dude
the left has become as looney as Rush/Robertson...if it begins to believe things like "Bush is the most unpopular, dishonest and corrupt President in history" or "Alito is a facist" or "Democrats don't appoint "far left" judges - we appoint moderates".
Know thine enemy. And your history.
Congress has moved further right than the country. If you want your country back, find out why and fix it.
Complaining about the Alito nomination by calling him names is not productive.
Hey, wait a minute! Who let an adult onto DU?

67. Right- the public NEVER responds to name calling- (see "Flip-flopper")
Also, see the demonization of the word "Liberal" in the 80's & 90's.
Gotcha- the public does not respond to name calling.

43. If they don't filibuster we won't have to worry about switching parties. The Democratic party will be FINISHED. It's that simple. Bush will be King, we'll have religion in schools, abortion will be illegal, we will forever be under surveillance, we will never have another fair election and....we'll be finished.

46. Which is also why the R's aren't worried about their own shitstorm
Once Alito's in, all that crap gets locked away for good. First order of business (after Alito tosses abortion rights into the dumpster) will likely to make criticism of the executive a federal offense.

13. I dont know how I'll forgive Democrats for allowing facism & racism.
How does one go about forgiving the enablers of facism and racism?
If Democrats dont Fillibuster, I will laugh at them when they ask me for money or volunteer time.
I dont give money or volunteer time to those who meekly enable facism and racism.

58. I am afraid you are right.
I hate it, but I it will take a miracle to prevent his confirmation and I don't see one coming. Our only hope is that we can gain leverage in 2006 and slowly begin to get our country back.
Wow! This one still has hope.

76. It would take something like personally killing babies for him to go down
It's done.
I hope (but don't expect) the Dems to fight all the way and vote against him, but in the end, he will be on the court. This was decided the day GW was re-selected.
It is a tragedy, a crime, possibly the beginning of the end of democracy in this nation, but it will happen.
