Peej, sorry, I went to vote for you just now, but the noms were already closed. My bad for waiting so long.
Hey, BB! :)
Ping....
Couple of things here. I was born in '47 and was a 'Polio Pioneer'. My first grade class (and my sisters 2nd grade class) were part of a blind study. Half were given a placebo injection and the other half got the vaccine. In '54 I was exposed to polio (a playmate contracted it) and my sister and I had to take gammogobulin injections as the vaccine wasn't available yet. I think the vaccine was finally available in '55 or '56 and was an injection but they recommended them for 3 yrs in a row. Eventually the vaccine was available in oral form.
If MoPaul was born in '50 he certainly could have been a VietNam era vet. He would have been 18 in '68. I was drafted in '70 so he could have been in that era. I don't remember him being a polio victim and if he was born in '50 the vaccine was available by the time he was 5-ish, therefore it would have to have been as an infant. I do remember a thead on CU about some other disease which I cannot remember. I will do a search and see if I can find it.
I saw one post that says he has 'post polio syndrome'. It was on CU.
