"Before Elvis, there was nothing" -John Lennon

Bullshyt.

The Jazz/Dixieland/Blues of the 20's and 30's were every bit as innovative, unconventional and controversial as the Rock-n-Roll of Baby Boomers.

It's just that Boomers can't conceive the fact that they weren't the "first" in something.

Happy Birthday, Elvis!

My college radio station has a local music show on Sunday mornings and at 11 am, the host has a moment of silence to
remember the troops, and then he plays a patriotic song
afterwards. I filled in for the show today (the host was
at the Patriots' game last night...) I did the moment
of silence/patriotic song and I chose Elvis' "An American
Trilogy" from the "Second to None" album. A medley
of "Battle Hymn of the Republic", "All My Trials", and
"Dixie".

And I visited the man's house earlier this year.
Elvis is Everywhere, Elvis is everything
Elvis is everybody, Elvis is still the king
