For what it is worth, Paulat2 is showing 4 workunits now. Not sure what happened to the other two work units.

You can go to http://forum.folding-community.org and request a search for the missing workunits, blips do occasionally happen, and the time for correction is on a as can be done basis, it appears.

Going by their troubleshooting technique, they're going to want you to post the FAHlog.txt information that shows a) your username/teamnumber for the work unit in question, and the portion of the log where the results are sent.

If you want to e-mail me that, send me a mail on here and I'll pass on my e-mail and look for you, if you'd like.

I show that you have been credited for (1) P1808 and (3) P2305 proteins.

What proteins does your log record as being finished?

It looks like it tried to pick-up from the last "save" point but the data was corrupted. It had to start over.

I saw that. This is the 2nd time I have lost a job that way. Is there any way to prevent this?

Yeah I had the "bad check sum" error too. Frustrating. I now run the GUI version. With the console version I was always opening it, changing settings, trying to optimize it with a tweek here or there. I think I corrupted it.

Software isn't my area of expertise...

Since I'm a hardware type, all I could recommend is a UPS to prevent the power outage from shutting down the computer.

Is it possible to run the GUI version using Win 98? I have no idea which version is which, I just downloaded something and started folding.

'98 works. Do you have a little red "flower" at the bottom right in your system tray? And when you click on it something that looks like post #219 above?...That's the GUI version, and what almost everyone except a power user should be folding with (IMHO)

According to http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html the only version that is available for Win98 is the gui version 4.00. If you have a client other than the one approved to work on your OS that may cause the corruption.

That's the one I'm using. I'll have to sit down later and see what other kinks I might have that could be causing this. Thanks!

I had to switch to the console version because I am running multiple user profiles for the different members of my family. The GUI version would not restart until someone was logged in.

The console version can be setup to run as a service which will run no matter who is logged in or even if no one is logged in (like after a power failure, reboot).

I had a power outage this morning,

I gotta think this is your main problem. It MAY help to save your work more often. Right click on the "flower" > configure > advanced. Slide the "checkpoint freguency" bar to the left. I have mine set a 3 min.

You do have your name and team # in right? Most people DON'T need to configure anything. It just runs as is and unless there are problems I wouln't recommend people twiddling with tabs and such.
