"If you know what the movie is about, why would you need to see it before criticizing it?"
This is one of those situations where I can understand if somebody else feels differently.
But personally i like to know the facts when I criticize in public or else put a disclaimer like "if media reviews are accurate."
I, personally, would not feel like I was being ethical, otherwise.
For example, consider the people who will criticize president Bush based on what they heard someone on TV say about the President without checking the President's actual remarks or policies.
or the people who show up in the Southpark threads but make clear they haven't actually watched the series...sometimes they have not even seen the actual episode they are criticizing...

Do I have to view porn before I can criticize it? And I've never watched South Park but I know they make fun of religion. Should I not criticize until I've watched a particular episode demeaning the Virgin Mary?
